STARK TO RELEASE THIRD STUDIO ALBUM RACE TO THE FLOOR

February 15, 2010

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

NEW YORK CITY (February 9, 2010) – STARK TO RELEASE THIRD STUDIO ALBUM RACE TO THE FLOOR

STARK will release a third album of nine songs, Race To The Floor, March 9, 2010. The New York City CD Release Party will be held March 13th at 10pm at Arlene’s Grocery on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and the first 50 people in the door will receive a free STARK tote bag filled with a copy of the album and other goodies, like autographed posters. There will be several lines of t’s and tanks to purchase at a discount for the nights of the parties only. The Pennsylvania CD release will be March 27th at Crocodile Rock Cafe in Allentown as part of Fetzer Fest III.

With the addition of Joe Hogan on guitar, expect to have your speakers rattling as you are reminded of 70’s FM radio. STARK likes to joke that this is the new classic rock.

The original hard rock trio has produced a completely DIY project with Hogan once again doing his magic behind the board, mixing and engineering at Loho Studios, Atlantic Recordings, and Big Blue Meenie. Drummer Eric Robel contributed all of the artwork, including taking the photos on a timer without a photographer. Finally, founder and front-woman Lani Ford, a multi ASCAP Plus award winner and Daisy Rock Guitars endorsed artist, financed the majority of the project while updating all of the sites, booking gigs and tours, running press and radio campaigns, and maintaining relationships with thousands of contacts. The band is already writing new material for an EP that will feature live tracks from the CD Release Party plus a cover or two. “It can be maddening,” says Ford of completing the project with 3 people, “but it is very rewarding to know it’s a product of our own blood, sweat, and beers!”

The album has been “leaked” to a few of STARK’s favorite radio and internet stations and has been receiving airplay as well as this comment from Douglas Craig at NYCMusic.net: “I got a chuckle when I saw the title–very Stark!…you guys have knocked this one right out of the park!” In 2009, STARK played GNYC-TV’s M.E.A.N.Y.Fest in NYC at The Studio at Webster Hall. STARK’s Hogan and Ford played the Indiegrrl in the Arts Conference and Showcase in Nashville. Ford was a guest host on the internet show Rew & Who and also DJ’d the New York Waste Compilation CD in the fall of 2009. Lani has appeared on Frankie Russo’s Rock Chicks Live on chataboutit.com many times over the past year and was Spotlight Artist for the week of February 8, 2010. Lani also played a 10 day solo acoustic tour in the UK in November 2009, opening for the band Lilith’s Army. STARK will be returning to the UK in June 2010. STARK’s music video for the song “OH NO!” won Best Music Video at The New York International Independent Film and Video Festival in October 2009. In the meantime, STARK’s sophomore CD Put It To Your Head has been receiving great press and radio all over the world since it’s release in January 2008.

VANDIT’S ALEX M.O.R.P.H. TEAMS WITH SEATOSUN | LOVERUSH DIGITAL TO RELEASE “SUNSET BOULEVARD” EP, MARCH 15, 2010

NEW YORK, NY (February 9, 2010) – Trance is king. In terms of sheer popularity, there is no other genre of electronic dance music (EDM) more widely attended and listened to than trance. Germany’s ALEX M.O.R.P.H. is a real flame-thrower of a DJ and an expert trance producer, arguably one of the latest reasons that trance remains king. Signed to PAUL VAN DYK’s VANDIT label, the Berlin-based M.O.R.P.H. announces his partnership with trans-Atlantic boutique label, SEATOSUN | LOVERUSH DIGITAL, beginning with the release of the hit single, “SUNSET BOULEVARD,” for North America and the UK on March 15, 2010.

Featuring heartbreaking vocals by ANA CRIADO, “SUNSET BOULEVARD” is characteristic of M.O.R.P.H.’s high-energy, uplifting, euphoric sound. With the heaviest of 4/4 beats thudding beneath a fluttering synth bassline, “SUNSET BOULEVARD” soars to the heavens with M.O.R.P.H.’s rapturous melody before building and crashing on cue. The “SUNSET BOULEVARD” EP from SeaToSun|Loverush Digital features remixes by PAUL VAN DYK, LOVERUSH UK!, STED-E & HYBRID HEIGHTS and others. Originally released by VANDIT as part of M.O.R.P.H.’s Purple Audio studio album, “SUNSET BOULEVARD” has taken on a life of its own under the guidance of SeaToSun|Loverush Digital. With tunes already championed by the likes of PAUL VAN DYK, ARMIN VAN BUUREN, TIËSTO, MARKUS SCHULZ and FERRY CORSTEN, M.O.R.P.H. has an innate sense of the ebb-and-flow of a dancefloor, and his skills as a producer bleed into his command of the DJ booth. Having played clubs and supersized festivals including, Trance Energy, Gatecrasher Summer Soundsystem, Nature One, Cream Ibiza and VAN BUUREN’s A State Of Trance 400, M.O.R.P.H. is as in-demand as ever.

M.O.R.P.H. (real name: Alexander Mieling) has over 100 remixes under his belt for VAN DYK, VAN BUUREN, SCHULZ, JOSH GABRIEL, ATB, FILO & PERI and FAITHLESS, notably including the latter’s “Sun To Me” single, as well as a remix of VAN BUUREN’s “Shivers.” Most importantly, it’s M.O.R.P.H.’s original productions that set him apart. Unforgettable M.O.R.P.H. productions consist of: “Maximum Overdrive,” “Creatures,” “Flaming Clouds,” “Klangwelt,” “New Harvest,” and – a dancefloor annihilator with RANK 1 – “Life Less Ordinary.” In 2009, VAN DYK was quoted in the UK’s DJ Magazine naming M.O.R.P.H. as the “breakthrough producer of the year.” To wit, VAN DYK’s own In Between (VANDIT/Mute) album contains two original M.O.R.P.H. tunes, and he contributed additional production elsewhere on the album. M.O.R.P.H. regularly collaborates with production partner, WOODY VAN EYDEN, and it’s M.O.R.P.H.’s willingness to explore new territory that makes him so attractive as a studio partner.

M.O.R.P.H.’s radio show, “Heavensgate,” is broadcast worldwide to over 20 million listeners via terrestrial and Internet radio each week. Heavensgate is also the name of M.O.R.P.H.’s riotously exuberant parties, including at Love Parade in Berlin, JUDGE JULES’ Judgement Sundays in Ibiza, BCM in Majorca and at numerous other events. ALEX M.O.R.P.H. is available for interviews on Friday, April 2. For more information, contact EMILY TAN MEDIA RELATIONS at (917) 318-3758 or EmilyEmilyTan@aol.com, and visit www.seatosun.com.

Nouveau Crooner Performs Selections From "THREE LITTLE FISHIES"

January 22, 2010

………………

Dave Downs
12 Longworth Avenue, Middletown, CT. 06457
downs.david@sbcglobal.net/www.davedownsmusic.com/(860)344-8297

PRESS RELEASE

Dave Downs describes his current album, Three Little Fishies, as family music. Including American anthems like “Yankee Doodle,” racous cowboy tunes like “Woopi Ti Yi Yo,” 1940s sing-a-longs like “You Are My Sunshine,” and brand new songs like “Boing,” “Ding-Dang-Doodle” a
nd “A Friend, Indeed,” Three Little Fishies is a “multigenerational songbook of fun, something the kids, mom and dad, and grandma and grandpa can all listen to and enjoy, together.”

To catch him performing selections from Three Little Fishies and his other albums, you’d want t
o show up at Brew Bakers, where for years Downs has been faithfully holding court the last Sunday of every month, starting around noon time. (Brew- Bakers, by the way, located at 169 Main Street, Middletown, CT., 06457, boasts world-famous desserts and an eclectic, Austrian/American breakfast and lunch menu. 860-852-0001.)

Downs specializes in unique, acoustic renderings of jazz/pop standards from in and around the 1940’s (ala The Ink Spots, Mills Brothers, Bing Crosby, Johnny Mercer, Fats Waller, et al). “Nouveau Croon,” he calls it. (He covers popular American tunes from other eras as well.) Accompanying himself on guitar, Downs shows up at all sorts of venues- bars, restaurants, bagel joints, coffee shops, libraries, river boats, street corners, festivals, you name it. But he’s especially fond of the performances he gives for the folks living in assisted-living facilities, nursing homes and rehab centers.

His songwriting efforts have brought him to finalist

and semi-finalist in international competitions like The UK Songwriting Competition, VH-1’s Song of the Year, and The Livin’ Along the Riv
er Songwriting Contest. Downs’ Nouveau Croon style lends itself well to film, and he frequently enjoys collaborating with local and non-local filmmakers. (“Nighttime Descending,” an original instrumental, can be heard on the trailer for Nick Scalia’s short comedy, “SNOOZE,” by going to vimeo.com/4562775.)

Based out of Middletown, Connecticut, the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism lists Downs in their Directory of Performing Artists. For Skope Magazine he writes the occasional music review, and Downs is also the proud Founder and President of The Highly Unsuccessful Songwriters Association. His albums are available for purchase online at CD.Baby.com or at his live performances. By day, he works in supportive housing, and you can learn more about supportive housing by going to www.csh.org.

“Dave Downs captures a decidedly vintage sound, completely fresh and wittily sentimental.” -The Middletown Press. “G-rated but cool.” -SKOPE Magazine. “Downs earliest influences include The Ink Spots, The Mills Brothers and Bing Crosby. His personal style fuses classic acoustic rock and folk with theses earlier mellow fundamentals.” -The Hartford Advocate. “Smooth guitar work and lush, rich harmonies.” -The Muse’s Muse.
“One of the most optimistic collection of love songs I’ve heard in a long time.” -The Hartford Courant.

ICONIC RAPPER, FREEDOM WILLIAMS, SIGNS WITH SEATOSUN|LOVERUSH DIGITAL AND RELEASES “PARTY TIME (GET UP, GET DOWN)” ON
FEBRUARY 16th, 2010.

NEW YORK, NY (December 14th, 2009) – A deep-throated rapper with unmistakable syncopation. An artist who’s sold over 8 million albums worldwide. The voice of unforgettable singles that went #1 around the globe. Queens native, FREEDOM WILLIAMS, is all of those things. As the front man for C+C MUSIC FACTORY during the act’s heyday, WILLIAMS is the voice and personality behind the international hits, “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now),” as well as the C+C Music Factory singles, “Things That Make You Go Hmmm” and “Here We Go.” The C+C Music Factory album, Gonna Make You Sweat, sold more than 8 million copies worldwide, and its iconic singles have proven their longevity as evidenced each time “Gonna Make You Sweat” is blasted over the soundsystems of baseball stadiums across the country. After a brief hiatus, WILLIAMS returns to the dancefloor with a series of hotly anticipated releases from trans-Atlantic boutique label, SEATOSUN|LOVERUSH DIGITAL, starting with “PARTY TIME (GET UP, GET DOWN)” on FEBRUARY 16th. A full EP will follow in MAY, 2010.

From the breaks on the intro, WILLIAMS’ signature rap makes an entrance and doesn’t let up for the duration of this bouncy, celebratory, syncopated and synth-laden track. Perfectly radio ready, “PARTY TIME” is a commercial hit in-the-making, albeit one ideally suited for re-rubs and extended spins in underground clubs. The earliest and most noteworthy remixes include those by SeaToSun|Loverush Digital labelmates, STED-E & HYBRID HEIGHTS, as well as the DAVE PEZZA Kaleidoscope Remix, the SOULSHAKER Mix, and the IVAN KAY Remix. DARIO CAMINITA of Italy’s M.O.D.A. Music Fashion produced the original track and his brother, MARIO CAMINITA, adds another twist with his Deep Lounge Mix.

Hailing from the Hollis section of Queens, WILLIAMS grew up with lyricism ingrained in his psyche. As a youth in Hollis – stomping grounds of JAM MASTER JAY and RUN DMC, and LL COOL J – WILLIAMS lived among the early hip-hop innovators, and soon he was rockin’ parties as MC TINY TIM. WILLIAMS’ first commercial success came in 1989 rapping on a tune titled, “Freedom” (Nu Groove), featuring diva vocalist BARBARA TUCKER. WILLIAMS’ next single, “Get Dumb” (Vendetta/A&M), was co-produced by KENNY “DOPE” GONZALEZ of MASTERS AT WORK. That track was the B-side to SEDUCTION’s hit single, “You’re My One And Only (True Love),” and it was at New York’s Quad Recording Studios where WILLIAMS first caught the attention of legendary production duo, ROBERT CLIVILLÉS and DAVID COLE, founders of C+C Music Factory. A multi-platinum career with C+C ensued, and WILLIAMS went on to have a thriving solo career afterwards with the release of the album, Freedom (Columbia), in 1993; that album included the top-five charting singles, “Voice Of Freedom” and “Groove Your Mind.”

“It’s really important for me to gel with the other creative forces involved in making a record, and since working with SPEAKERBOX on ‘Mindbounce’ and SYLVIA TOSUN on ‘Underlying Feeling,’ I’ve experienced firsthand SeaToSun’s reputation for taking great care in their releases. This is only the beginning,” said FREEDOM WILLIAMS. For media inquiries, contact EMILY TAN MEDIA RELATIONS at (917) 318-3758 or EmilyEmilyTan@aol.com and visit www.seatosun.com.

THE NEW LOUD IS TOO LOUD. BAND SHUT DOWN BY COPS DURING CMJ

November 17, 2009

My PR Music Wire (Press Release)~ THE NEW LOUD IS “TOO LOUD!” BAND TRAVELS FROM MILWAUKEE TO NYC TO GET SHUT DOWN BY COPS DURING CMJ. UNDETERRED, GROUP ISSUES “DON’T DANCE” SINGLE FROM FORTHCOMING “CAN’T STOP NOT KNOWING” EP

“DON’T DANCE” is the lead single from CAN’T STOP NOT KNOWING by THE NEW LOUD out FEBRUARY 23rd, 2010

[MP3]: http://www.fanaticpromotion.com/projects/thenewloud/mp3/thenewloud-dontdance.mp3

+++

“Part weirdness of Sparks, part killer dance of The Bravery and part insistent hook craftsmanship of XTC.” – Amplifier

The New Loud is apparently too loud for NYC. The band was cut short only four songs into their set at CMJ 2009 when New York’s finest showed up in response to a noise complaint during the band’s second song. The New Loud, bypassing the club’s PA, pressed on at full volume for two more songs before the club pulled the plug. All in a day’s work for a band simply living up to its name!

The New Loud is a three-piece electro/punk/new wave band from the blue collar city of Milwaukee, WI. Its debut EP, Can’t Stop Not Knowing consists of six tracks including an intense, frenetic cover of Radiohead’s “2 + 2 = 5.” The EP was produced by band member Shane Olivo and displays a tight mixture of electronic elements and natural sounds, layered obsessively with some songs using up to 80 tracks in the mix.

Five of Can’t Stop Not Knowing’s tracks were mixed by Mark Trombino. “Mark Trombino was the band’s first choice, as all of us greatly admire him from his earlier work with Drive Like Jehu and Rocket From The Crypt, all the way up to his more modern productions such as Jimmy Eat World and Finch,” says The New Loud’s Olivo.

The New Loud will continue its collaboration with Trombino as they begin to record a debut full-length for release during the first half of 2010. For now, check out The New Loud’s single “Don’t Dance” [MP3]. And please, try to keep the noise down. Just try.

Question Box is Open Mind’s multi-continental initiative to bring information tothese offline people the way they want and can receive. Question Box’s Tailored Solutions include Local language, Live telephone hotlines, SMS answers & more. Question Box service makes farmers more informed & productive in the African country of Uganda. Piloting with Grameen Foundation, 40 promoter agents in the field connected users to Question Box through their mobile phones. In a country devastated by HIV-AIDS, Question Box’s next goal is to bring health information to the farmers. Our Question Box Operators search databases and the Internet for the answer. If needed, the question is forwarded to an agriculture or other health expert. Open Mind also provides answers via Question Boxes in greater Pune, India. Question Boxes are public help points that run on mobile phone technology and, when necessary, solar power. Callers ask questions in local language Marathi. Our Operators look up the information in English and translate it back for them, on the spot.
