NEW YORK, NY (May 24^th, 2010) – Internationally acclaimed and respected house music label JUICY MUSIC releases the debut full-length artist album from studio technician/DJ/producer, DMS12, GET DIRTY (Juicy Music), on June 24^th, 2010.  May 20, 2010 - Lisa Brigantino, award-winning singer-songwriter/composer/multi-instrumentalist and former founding member of Lez Zeppelin (the all girl, Led Zeppelin tribute band), announces the release of her latest solo CD “Wonder Wheel,” an eclectic collection of original songs ranging from Rock to Folk, Pop to Blues, plus Old-Time, Americana and more.  The album will officially be released on June 7^th, 2010.  Brigantino’s debut album “A Brooklyn Night” received great reviews and international airplay and garnered a Citation of Merit from past Brooklyn Borough President Howard Golden. 

“Wonder Wheel” was recorded and produced by Brigantino and husband Tomi Millioto in their Brooklyn studio.  The album contains 13 tracks all written and performed by Brigantino with guest performances by Tomi Millioto, Lori Brigantino, Susan Haefner and Jerry Snee. “I really had no intention of including references to Brooklyn in my second album,” says Brigantino.  “However, I came across a fantastic photo of the Coney Island Wonder Wheel that my sister Lori had taken. Coney Island is one of my favorite places and the idea of the Wonder Wheel being a metaphor for life gave me the inspiration to write a song with that title. It ended up being the perfect title track for the album and Lori’s photo is the album cover.”

A trained composer with a Master of Music degree in music composition and theory from SUNY Fredonia, Brigantino composes for TV, film and more.  Brigantino also performs in “The Vickie & Nickie Show,” a crazy musical-comedy act with her sister Lori.  Brigantino was a founding member of Lez Zeppelin, the world’s first all girl Led Zeppelin tribute band and played bass, keyboards and mandolin.  She toured internationally with the band playing A list venues and festivals including Bonnaroo. LOS ANGELES, May 14, 2010 – The Air Conditioned Supper Club in the Westside Los Angeles artist enclave of Venice, might be the last place you would expect a Hip Hop Summit, but thanks to Matt Diamond, of Diamond Lane Entertainment, KRS-One, the master of Conscious Hip Hop and Luminaries, the seven-piece Conscious Hip Hop collective, its going to happen.

KRS-One founded the legendary Boogie Down Productions, releasing a granite-solid 19 full-length albums. He also founded theTemple of Hip-Hop and Stop the Violence Movement, for which they received a Lifetime achievement award from BET in 2008.Temple of Hip Hop calls on all fans to celebrate Hip Hop Appreciation Week, occurring in the third week of May. It encourages DJs and MCs to teach about the culture of Hip Hop, to write more socially conscious songs, and radio stations to play more socially conscious hip hop.

Luminaries have a vast, growing fan base thanks in part because their video "Peace" was chosen by Youtube India to be the number one featured video in the weeks immediately following the Mumbai bombings.  The band has been playing festival main stages and catching the attention of a wide variety of socially conscious artists including Somalian Hip Hop musician K’Naan, and Hasidic Reggae/Hip Hop artist Matisyahu who caught the Luminaries’ set at last summer’s Harmony Festival in Santa Rosa.  In an inspiring moment, Joan Baez made a surprise appearance and joined the band onstage for a rousing version of Amazing Grace.

The May 20^th show falls in the middle of Hip Hop Appreciation Week, and brings together KRS-One and Luminaries in an intimidate venue. The show will be a homecoming for a family of LA based poets and musicians, and bring together fans and hip-hop artists to focus on real, socially conscious change in the community and the world.

Many musicians and music industry professionals are excited to move beyond their Myspace page and develop their own website, only to find that it gets lost in the missions of sites already out their on the web. Studies show that most people do not search beyond the first page of Google results when searching online. How can you learn to rank well so that your site gets more organic search traffic? The answer is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

A lot of SEO experts try and make SEO sound complicated. I do not believe it has to be; it is a vital part of digital music marketing. There are a couple of simple things you can do to have your website ranking well for your chosen keywords in the online music marketing niche.
• Well researched keywords – Google’s free Keyword Tool is excellent at researching keywords. Pick keywords that are related to your site content.
• Use the keywords correctly in your meta, description, and title tags
• Use your keywords in the text in the body of your site
• Backlinks to your website from relevant websites and good anchor text

Google is obsessed with relevancy and one of the main ways Google decides how relevant a website is by the quality of the links linking back to your site.

Let’s use the example of a recording studio. We would seek to get links back from music related websites like record companies, online music promotion companies, and other recording studios. Google ranks quality of sites on a simple 1 to 10 scale called PageRank. There are many factors that go into determining the PageRank of a site, but for our purposes you can quickly determine whether a site is worth trying to solicit a link back by checking the PR. Websites with a PR of 3 or above are considered good, but of course the higher the better when it comes to link quality.

Google does not just use the text and mata tags on your site to determine where and how to rank your site, because this content is actually very easy to manipulate. Equally important is the anchor text of the back link. The "anchor text" is the labeling of the link as it appears on the Web page – the actual words that are "clickable." If the words used in the link are relevant to the content on your web page, which makes the link more powerful. That’s why it’s important to link the search terms themselves, not using generic terms such as "click here." when I build back links to my client sites, I always try to match the subject / niche on both of the sites. So if we were trying to rank for "London recording studios" that would also make great anchor text.

The more back links you can get from "authority sites" the better. Good quality back links are an essential component of any search engine optimization campaign for all but the less competitive search terms. If we do a search on Google for "Central London recording studio" you will see more than 185,000 results. How does Google decide which search term comes first and on page one of Google? And how can you persuade Google to feature your website in the top 5 search results?

Google counts every inbound link to your site as a “vote” for it, the more “votes” your site has, the higher the quality and the higher it will rank in search results.

In a nutshell, Back link building is often more profitable in the long-term than online advertising. However, it can be a tedious and time-consuming process. Many business owners choose to outsource this work to individuals or companies that specialize in search engine optimization.
